Aftercare

Dermal Filler Aftercare
With lips fillers it’s inevitable your going to get swelling. It’s the body’s natural reaction to the trauma on the skin.
​
Swelling may last around three to seven days and lips may look bruised, uneven or lumpy during this time. If once they have settled you find they're lumpy, you can use a warm compress and gently massage your lips.
​
We like to advise waiting two weeks to see the final effect of your lip filler treatment.
Ice packs may help the initial swelling after treatment.
​
Paracetamol will help ease any pain and arnica gel will help reduce bruising.
​
You will be given a complimentary lip balm to use post treatment for lip filler.
​

Do not take any blood thinning medication (pre treatment ) such as aspirin or any other anticoagulants. These may increase the risk of bleeding after treatment also.

Do not apply make up for 12hrs post treatment

Avoid alcohol for 24hrs

Avoid facials, waxing, chemical peels, skin needling, microdermabrasion, IPL or any laser treatment for two weeks minimum

Avoid heat, such as sun beds, spas, saunas, hot showers or exercise for 24hrs

And…Remember, drink lots of water. Fillers love water and this helps to keep your filler looking fabulously hydrated.
Anti Wrinkle Treatment Aftercare
Anti Wrinkle Treatments (botulinum toxin) works by temporarily paralysing the muscles to contract.
​
When you are treated with botulinum toxin, we are injecting into muscles with an extremely small needle.
​
The treatment will last 20-30mins.
​
Slight swelling or redness may be noticeable in the treated areas.
We advise for the first 4 hours following the procedure you shouldn’t lie flat.
There is a very small risk that the botulinum toxin will spread out too much, into other areas.
​
After your treatment is finished, we advise you to use the treated muscles intensely for up to four hours! This encourages the botulinum toxin into the muscles.
​
You may experience a headache after the treatment and this considered normal.
Paracetamol is good to take.
​
Avoid Ibuprofen or Aspirin as this can thin your blood and exacerbate bleeding.

Do not rub, massage or put pressure on the treated area for the first 4 hours

Do not apply make up for 12hrs post treatment

Avoid alcohol & smoking for 12hrs

Avoid heat, such as sun beds, spas, saunas, hot showers or exercise for 24hrs
After 3-7days days results of the botulinum toxin will become noticeable and after 2 weeks the result is maximal.

After about 2 weeks the maximum effect of the anti-wrinkle treatment will be apparent and at that point we offer a review.
​
In order to maintain an optimum effect, the treatment should be repeated after 3-6 months.
Complications
A Vascular Occlusion, also known as a VO is when filler has been injected into a blood vessel or the filler may be pressing on a vessel. This can restrict the blood flow and oxygen to the treated area.
​
The two symptoms of vascular occlusion are pain and changes in skin color. Immediate, severe, and disproportionate pain and acute onset of color changes – blanching (or white spots/blotches).
If it is not treated and managed correctly this can lead to further complications ultimately end up as a necrosis of the skin.
Symptoms of a VO can be confused with the normal side effects of filler. Please be aware and if you feel unsure please message me. I am available at anytime for you to contact if you feel there is a need.
I will ask for clear photos and get you to do a short video of the capillary refill of the area. If I feel there is evidently something of a complication I will ask you to come to the clinic for further management.
VO’s can and unfortunately do happen. In the eventuality of this we need to be prepared for emergency dissolving of the product using Hyalase.

Deposits
A £50 non refundable deposit is required at time of booking.
Cancellations
You are required to give 48hrs notice cancellation notice.
Failure to do so will result in forfeit of your deposit.

I do for one understand how busy life can be, with children, childcare issues and sickness, so please contact me ASAP and we may be able to reschedule your appointment.
​
Unfortunately, if you don’t contact me I will have no option to class it as a no show / cancellation.
Late Arrivals
Please arrive on time. If you are running late, kindly let me know as if you arrive too late, and I have another client booked in straight after, I may have to reschedule your appointment.
Extra Guests and Children
Children and accompanying friends are not allowed in the clinic, I’m afraid.
Make Up
Please do not wear a full face of make up.

I will have to remove this before treatment. It takes time out of your treatment and it can lead to infection.
Photos
Before and after pictures will be taken for treatment and insurance purposes.
​
You will have the option to tick on your consent form if you're happy for the images to be used on my social media.
Other Info
Everything else.
Clothing
Make sure you wear comfortable clothing, you will need to lay on a couch and it’s best to be comfy, rather than wearing tight or impractical clothing.
Come Prepared
Please eat and drink before treatment.

Nerves and adrenaline can make you feel worse if you haven’t eaten.
​

Your Health and Safety
Your comfort and safety is paramount whilst you are here. I do require you to fill out forms online pre appointment, please be honest when answering your medical forms.
I will run through your consent form on the day.
